PERSONALLY GUIDED FROM BEGINNING TO ARTWORK

The Commission Experience

A private commission. Clear guidance. Artwork chosen for your
life.

Your commission brings portrait planning, a directed sitting and finished artwork into one experience. We begin with the people you want photographed and the kind of portrait you want to own.
You do not need to know how to pose, select a frame or arrive with a complete vision. Those
decisions are made with guidance

How your commission unfolds

01

A private conversation

We discuss what has brought you here, who will be photographed and your ideas for the work.
You will learn about the collection choices, minimum investment and booking arrangements before reserving a date.

02

Design and planning

We develop the portrait direction and consider wardrobe, colours, setting and who belongs in each image. Suitable studio wardrobe options are reviewed in advance, with sizes and availability confirmed for your sitting.
Your own clothing, jewellery and meaningful pieces can be part of the design. If hair and makeup services are part of your agreed experience, those arrangements are confirmed before the sitting.

03

Your portrait sitting

Your sitting takes place in a private studio setting, with the venue confirmed during planning. I guide posture, placement, hands, movement and expression throughout.
The pace takes account of the people being photographed. We plan for children, older family members and any needs you share with us.

04

Your private reveal

See your portraits, compare favourites and select the images that belong in your collection. We consider wall-art scale, framing and album presentation together.
You may select and pre-purchase a collection before your sitting, or commit to the minimum investment when booking and choose your collection at the reveal. Any additional artwork or collection upgrade is your choice

05

Artwork design and delivery

Your selections are prepared for production. The final artwork specification, payment arrangements and delivery estimate are confirmed with your order.
Matching full-resolution and web-sized digital copies of purchased portraits are delivered with the finished artwork. Installation is included with eligible collections or can be quoted separately.

Your Commission & Investment

Your commission begins with the portraits you want to create and the artwork you want to live with.
A framed family portrait for your living room. An album that brings your maternity portraits together. A personal collection marking the woman you are today.
During our initial conversation, we explore your ideas and guide you through the artwork collections suited to them. You will receive clear pricing, collection details and payment arrangements before deciding whether to reserve.
Each commission includes personal planning, a directed portrait sitting, a private reveal and finished artwork. A booking retainer secures your date and is credited towards your collection.
You may choose your collection before your sitting or select it at the reveal, with the minimum investment agreed when you book. Additional artwork and collection upgrades are optional.

Payment, timing and changes

Payment schedules, production stages and delivery arrangements are set out in your written commission agreement. Where a staged payment arrangement is agreed, the finished artwork is delivered after payment in full.
If pregnancy, illness or family circumstances affect your plans, contact me so we can discuss the available arrangements under your commission terms.
Your timing is confirmed individually, taking account of the sitting date, your selections, production and payment schedule. Tell me about any important deadline during your initial conversation

Questions about commissioning a portrait

How long does a commission take, from first conversation to finished artwork?

Most commissions take 6 to 12 weeks from the first conversation to artwork delivery, depending on your sitting date and the artwork you choose.

Do I have to decide what to buy at the reveal?

No. You choose your collection during the design stage, before your sitting, so the reveal is about choosing your favourite portraits, not making a buying decision on the spot. You can always add more.

Can I see my portraits online before the reveal?

No. Your portraits are revealed in person, at full size, so you see them the way they’ll live in your home.

What is the retainer?

The retainer secures your sitting date and is credited in full toward your collection, so it’s never an extra cost.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. Half of your balance is due at the reveal, and the rest can be paid in up to three monthly payments. Artwork goes into production after the first half and is delivered once paid in full.

What if I need to reschedule?

For medical reasons, your retainer is held for 12 months and can move to another chapter or family member. For other reasons, you can reschedule once with 14 days’ notice.

Can I share my portraits on social media?

Yes. Your matching digital copies are for personal use and sharing. Please don’t add filters, and commercial use isn’t permitted.

Will you show my portraits in your portfolio?

Only with your written consent. Discretion is part of every commission.

How many people can be in a family commission?

Up to six people are included. Larger multigenerational groups are welcome, with an additional sitting fee that we’ll explain in your conversation.
