A portrait changes when it becomes part of your home. You see it in passing, return to its details and share it with the people around you.
Your commission is designed towards that finished work, with guidance on image selection, scale, framing and presentation.
Portraits for your walls
We consider the image and the room together. A portrait above a console needs a different scale from a principal work in a large living room. The frame, surrounding space and relationship to other artwork matter too.
Archive Portrait
An intimate framed portrait for a shelf, bedroom or smaller wall. The collection format is 8 x 10 inches, with the final framed dimensions confirmed before ordering
Signature Work
A principal framed wall portrait. Collection formats include 16 x 20 and 20 x 30 inches, selected according to the work and your space.
Masterwork
A substantial portrait for a room that can give it space. The Inheritance collection includes a 30 x 40-inch framed work.
Triptychs & Gallery Installations
Coordinated portraits designed as a group for a particular wall or room. The number of pieces, dimensions, finishes and investment are specified individually
Portraits to hold
An album or folio gives a collection a different rhythm. You can return to the entire sitting, share the portraits across a table or spend time with one image at a time.
Archive Folio
Individually matted portraits presented together. The Chapter includes a folio of 10 selected portraits.
Archive Volume
A bound portrait album, designed as a complete collection. The Heirloom includes 20 selected portraits; The Inheritance includes an extended volume with 30.
Archive Prints
Additional printed portraits included where specified in your collection or agreed artwork order.
Size, presentation and finish are confirmed before production.

Bring photographs and measurements of the space you are considering. We can use them to discuss proportion, grouping and placement during your artwork selection.
You approve the final images, artwork dimensions and available finishes before production. Any digital room visualisation is a planning aid; the agreed measurements and order specification determine the finished work.
Installation, considered.
Installation is included with The Heirloom and The Inheritance within the Hamilton-to-Toronto service area. It can be arranged separately with The Chapter and locations beyond the included area are quoted individually.
Access, wall suitability and placement are discussed before arrangements are confirmed.
The files come with the artwork.
Matching full-resolution and web-sized digital copies of purchased portraits are delivered with your artwork. You receive the portraits selected for your collection, rather than every image made during the sitting.
Personal and commercial usage permissions are set out in your commission terms. If you need portraits for business use, tell me before booking so that requirement can be included in the agreement.
Questions about portrait artwork
Can I commission digital files only?
These commissions are built around finished artwork. Matching digital copies accompany the
portraits you purchase in print.
Must I know which frame or size I want before booking?
No. You receive guidance during planning and the reveal, and approve the specification before
production.
Can I purchase additional pieces?
Yes. Additional artwork and larger collections can be discussed at the reveal. Costs are
confirmed before you approve an addition.
What materials will be used?
Available papers, frames, album covers and finishes are reviewed for your chosen product. The
details are confirmed in the final order.
