I am Temi, a portrait artist creating commissioned artwork for women and families who understand that legacy is shaped intentionally.
My work is rooted in the belief that portraiture is not documentation, it is authorship.
I built The Legacy House because I needed it to exist.
A space where women at their most significant thresholds, pregnant after years of trying, gathering the generations while there’s still time, standing in their power after rebuilding their lives are photographed not as subjects, but as the extraordinary women they are.
I am not a photographer who happens to serve women. I am a woman who uses portraiture to ensure that the faces of the women who matter most are never lost to time.
Why This Work Exists
Most families lose history not because they forget but because no one preserves it.
I photograph women who have been behind the camera their entire lives. Women who put themselves last. Women who think they need to lose weight, fix their skin, or wait until they’re “ready”.
Ready is a myth. You are extraordinary right now. And your great-granddaughter deserves to know what your face looked like.
MY APPROACH
I don’t take photos. I create portrait commissions.
The difference is intention. A photo is a moment. A portrait commission is a collaboration, weeks of planning, hours of direction, archival materials that will outlive both of us.
Every commission begins with your story. What you’ve survived. What you’re celebrating. What you want your daughter to see when she looks at that portrait on the wall.
I use museum-quality archival printing materials rated for years. Professional framing with UV-protective glass. My work is designed to last generations, not gigabytes.
